FAQ’s

Q: Are the Baths private or public?
A: The Bath House at the Miyazaki is a private and intimate space. Only you and those you invite to be with you will share the facilities. This makes for a more personal and enjoyable experience.

Q: What are your cancellation policies?

Q: What time is check in for lodging?
A: Check in is 2 pm check out is 12 noon

Q: We have an overnight stay booked at the Miyazaki and would like to bring an extra guest with us. Can you accommodate an extra sleepover guest?
A: Yes, we have 2 very comfy bedrooms and a Japanese tatami day bed. Each additional guest is $75 per night, including soak & steam.

Q: Is there wifi? 
A: Yes

Q: Do you have gift certificates?
A: Yes

Q: Are the tubs handicap accessible?
A: At the Miyazaki Bath House & Gallery the restrooms and steam room are fully accessible, though the tubs themselves are not handicap accessible due to the historic nature of the facilities.

Q: Can food be purchased on site?
A: No, and food is not allowed in the bathhouse proper. We are happy to provide tea service while you are using the facilities. There are a number of eateries in the area that we can recommend for full meals or light dining, and there are a few small stores near by.

Q: Is there a kitchen in the lodging area? 

A: Yes

Q: May I use my own bath oils and salts?
A: We do not allow outside salt scrubs or oils. Because we are a green business and we take this very seriously, it is the only way we can assure a space where no products with chemicals or perfumes are used. Furthermore, after your soak, we reuse that water in the park adjacent to our building to aid in the drought and this requires only specific pure products.  Our divine home made salt scrubs are Epsom based, not sea salt which damages the plumbing and we provide a selection of approved essential oils  and aromatic flowers (priced separately) for your personal use. Thank you for understanding.

Q: Can I book a massage while I’m at the Miyazaki?
A: Yes, we can book a professional and licensed massage therapist for you.  Rates for massage are determined by the individual massage therapist and not by the Miyazaki. You will need to make arrangements for your massage in advance of your arrival. Please contact us for more information.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book a tub at the Miyazaki?
A: It is always a good idea to check our calendar page to see if we are available when you want to come.  Or call us to verify availability. We try to be as accommodating as possible.

Q: The Miyazaki looks like a cute place for a family event like a wedding or small party. Can we book an event at the Miyazaki?
A: Schedule permitting, absolutely. We love hosting weddings, and intimate gatherings, as well as hosting workshops, meetings and other small events. Please call us for more information. Check out our wedding page (coming soon!).

Q: Can I bring pets to the Miyazaki?
A: We generally do not accept pets with the exception of certified and trained seeing eye dogs regardless of whether you are coming to the Miyazaki for an overnight or just a soak and steam. However, we will consider dogs on a case by case basis along with a $100 refundable damage deposit.

Q: Can we bring our young children?
A: The Miyazaki is an environment where you come to unwind and relax which is not always synonymous with children! However, overnight guest may bring their children as long as they remain under parental supervision at all times. For safety reasons, those attending events at the Miyazaki should not bring young children. Children over ten years of age may attend events but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Any damage resulting from a child’s actions will be the financial responsibility of the child’s parent/guardian who will be billed accordingly.
